Creator education

TikTok for Grown Folks

TikTok without needing your kids to explain it. Clear steps, no creator-bro nonsense.

We survived VCR programming. We can figure this out.

Creator Search Insights + Content Gap

A simple way to stop guessing what to post.

01

Open Creator Search Insights

In TikTok, search for Creator Search Insights and open the tool from the results.

02

Search your topic

Use a topic connected to your niche, not an entire video idea.

03

Look at what people search

Choose a search phrase you can genuinely answer, explain, demonstrate, review or discuss.

04

Check Content Gap

Treat a content gap as an opportunity clue—not a guarantee of views.

05

Answer the intent

Search phrase → what is the person really asking? → your answer → hook → video, carousel or LIVE.

The easy formula: Search phrase intent answer hook content.

Your First TikTok LIVE

Your first LIVE is practice. The goal is not to be impressive. The goal is to hit LIVE and stay there for 10–20 minutes.

Before you go LIVE

  • Charge your phone and keep a charger nearby.
  • Put the phone at eye level and find decent lighting.
  • Grab water and silence unnecessary notifications.
  • Write down 3 things you can talk about.
  • Choose a clear LIVE title.
  • Set a simple 10–20 minute goal.

While you're LIVE

  • Start talking immediately.
  • Tell viewers who the LIVE is for and what you are discussing.
  • Repeat the topic every few minutes.
  • Ask easy questions and read comments.
  • Keep talking when chat is quiet.
  • Ignore the viewer count.

When your mind goes blank

QUESTION → STORY → TIP → QUESTION

Ask something, tell a related story, give one useful tip, then ask another question.
